Damascene jewelry was made in both Toledo, Spain and Japan around the 1950's, and is typically decorated with Asian themes. Sterling or gold plated pieces are thickly enameled in black, then etched and decorated in real Gold, Silver and Copper. Typically the jewelry is decorated with flowers, mountain scenes, and birds. This damascene bracelet is a great example of the ancient art which is all hand done. In very good vintage jewelry condition, with slight rubbing of the gold plating.
